Kirkwood by the River is a faith-based Life Plan Community, established in 1980 as a ministry of Independent Presbyterian Church. Kirkwood’s name originated from a combination of the Scottish word “kirk” for church and “wood” which describes its setting. Kirkwood by the River provides senior adults an active, independent community with the security of the full continuum of care.
Active, maintenance-free living with social events, meals, and housekeeping — no care services required.
Help with daily activities (bathing, medication, dressing) while preserving as much independence as possible.
