An estimated 6.7 million American adults aged 65 and older live with Alzheimer’s or dementia, according to the Alzheimer's Association. As the population ages, this figure is expected to rise to around 13 million by 2050 and, unfortunately, Eau Claire is no exception. Data from the CDC shows the city saw Alzheimer-related deaths increase by 141.3% between 2016 and 2020 despite the overall mortality rate rising by just 23.4%.
